On January 21, 2022, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko and Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Larisa Galadza visited one of the production sites of Ovostar Union, a leading Ukrainian egg and egg products manufacturer. The visit was a part of the program confined to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Ukraine.

The Canadian government pays a lot of attention to Canadian investments made to the Ukrainian economy by its public and private sectors.

“Canada, like other partners of Ukraine, keeps an eye on the investment projects. We care about the place Ukraine takes in the world. The presence of Canadian investors sends a signal to the international community that Ukraine is a reliable partner that fulfills its obligations. The organization and structure I saw today is hard to imagine until you see it with your own eyes. Ovostar Union is a good example of a successful investment story and of technological leadership,” commented Larisa Galadza.

Roman Leshchenko highlighted the importance of highly technological processes at the production site.

“Our countries have many years of friendship. I would like to thank the company, a definitive leader of its industry — it organized high-tech production, successfully entered the global market, complies with the principles of sustainable development — for the opportunity to look at an example of effective management. The production makes a significant contribution to local communities — an employer with market level wages, a reliable taxpayer, a contributor to local territories development. By scaling up such businesses, we set a solid foundation for the future of Ukraine,” commented the Minister.

Ovostar Union group of companies is the technological leader in industrial poultry farming. The guests visited the production sites, checked conditions for animals, modern technologies for egg collecting and sorting. Also, the Ukrainian-Canadian delegation visited a plant for processing eggs into value-added products.

Boris Belikov, CEO Ovostar Union: “No one doubts the potential of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. By implementing a large industrial poultry farming project in Ukraine, we gained the trust of international investment institutions, and this is very important for us. The interest to Ovostar Union confirms that the company is an example of efficient operation — for business and the Ukrainian agricultural sector as a whole.”

Ovostar Union lists on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2011. Among its shareholders, along with individual investors, are such large funds as FAIRFAX (Canada), AVIVA (Poland), GENERALI (Poland).
