Poultry farms of the Ovostar Union Group of Companies received a HALAL certificate confirming the compliance of products with the canons of Islam. Previously, only OVOSTAR egg products factory had such a certificate. This certification applies to the work of personnel, the process of production of chicken eggs and the feed base of poultry farms.
The term HALAL comes from the Arabic word “al-halal” and means “permitted”. In the gastronomic context, “halal” is usually understood to mean products of animal origin, the use of which does not violate Islamic food prohibitions, meets the requirements of food storage, and also has health benefits.
As applied to eggs and egg products, HALAL means compliance with biological safety at all stages of production, up to packaging, including cleanliness requirements in production facilities, as well as natural animal feed, without any harmful additives.
According to statista.com, in 2019 the global volume of halal food products amounted to $805.8 billion, and, according to forecasts, this figure will double by 2025. The global halal food market is estimated at $1140 million in 2018 and will reach $1590 million by the end of 2025, an increase of 4.3% on average in 2019-2025.
The main regions where halal is most consumed are East Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and the HALAL certificate is a document that allows exporting food products to the countries of the Arab-Muslim world. Now the company will be able to develop exports to these countries not only egg products, but also fresh eggs, which will strengthen the economic position of Ukraine and expand the geography of high-quality natural Ukrainian eggs. Ovostar Union sales office in Dubai OAE Food Trade FZE has been operating since 2018.
